Imaam Shaafi’s Defence of Imaam Abu Haneefah

Imaam Shaafi’ (Rahmatullahi alaih) said: “Some of our people want to denigrate the position of Imaam Abu Haneefah, whereas just ascertaining what kind of person he was, is sufficient for them [to realize their folly].”
